DJ Maj Duckworth cut his teeth some ten years ago in Leeds, both promoting and performing at various nights across the city. Fuelled by his initial love for Hip Hop, his turntable skills saw him eventually return to his native London where he has been cutting, scratching and beat juggling the finest cuts through club and radioland ever since.

After securing residencies in Camden and West London, he has gone on to spin at a host of venues across the land, such as the iconic Clapham Grand and notably, The Rumshack, a 1100 plus capacity late night venue located in the South East ‘Naughty’ corner of the worlds biggest greenfield festival, Glastonbury.

Extending his musical range beyond the realms of Hip Hop, Maj has been known to smash sets in Soul, Funk, Disco, R&B, original breaks and even Rock & Roll!

This range of genres led to shows on Whitechapel AM, LFR, world famous Itch FM and thanks to his recent acceptance on to the Multitrack Fellowship, he debuted on BBC Radio 4 with his documentary ‘Hip Hop‘s Laughing Stock’, as well as continuing to get booked across the capital and beyond.

Now a Brighton resident, Maj is bringing his genre bending, turntablist influenced sets from the inner city to the South Coast, replicating his impact on London’s musical tapestry in and around Brighton.
